Adaptive Learning

Customizing learning paths for each student for a more effective learning experience.

About Learning.com’s Adaptive Learning Approach

Our goal at Learning.com is to help students achieve digital literacy and technology skills in the most effective, successful ways possible–while minimizing workload and preparation for teachers and administrators.

One of the main ways we do this is through adaptive learning. Our adaptive learning technology strengthens the learning experience by customizing the learning path based on a student’s individual progress. Using adaptive learning technology, students experience:

  • Individualized learning paths that adapt according to each student’s individual performance.
  • Customized assignment of exercises that adapt to a student’s unique learning needs to optimize mastery of content.
  • Assessments based on individual or class-wide target goals and progress scales to measure progress.

Strengthening the Learning Experience

Adaptive learning strengthens the learning experience by customizing learning paths for each individual student. Teachers inherently understand that each student learns differently and at different paces. However, class sizes and bandwidth make it difficult–or impossible–for instructors to individualize content for every student.

Adaptive learning empowers teachers with the ability to offer a completely customized learning path for each student in an effective, scalable solution. This improves the learning experience, success and engagement of students while decreasing workload and preparation for teachers.

Adaptive Keyboarding by Learning.com

Learning.com’s adaptive keyboarding program is one of our most popular K-12 programs. This program utilizes adaptive learning to provide individualized keyboarding instruction through a series of prescribed pathways that adapt according to a student’s unique progress. Adaptive features include:

  • Individualized instruction through a series of learning pathways that adapt based on student performance
  • Formative and interim assessments to establish data points for growth measurement
  • Customized assignments, exercises and drills based on students’ individual progress
  • Keyboarding exercises and drills that adapt to students’ individual needs
  • Earning keyboard game play based on meeting defined objectives
  • Ability to create custom “user-generated” guided practices, such as including spelling words, current events or important concepts from other subjects.
  • Ability to customize target goals and progress scales for class and/or student
  • Resources that support students and teachers in instances where additional instruction may be required.

Teachers can customize target goals or progress scales for individual students or classes. The adaptive keyboarding program uses formative and interim assessments to establish data points for growth measurement on these scales.
