Learning.com, leader in Texas digital education, adopted for delivering online science materials

Texas approves Learning.com to provide statewide digital supplemental science materials for middle and high school

Portland, OR – July 27, 2011
Texas teachers now have an effective, proven resource to implement the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) adoption of all-digital science materials for middle school and high school. With Learning.com, Texas teachers can now combine the best in interactive science content with the leading online delivery platform to engage today's digitally native students.

More than 86,000 teachers and 2.3 million students in Texas use Learning.com's digital learning environment, its TEA-adopted digital curricula, EasyTech, and its TEKS-aligned Aha!Math and Aha!Science. Now districts can easily add rich 100 percent standards-aligned science curricula digitally delivered by Learning.com in a way that works for teachers and students.

TEA approved Learning.com to provide its full-course offerings for middle school, and biology, chemistry, physics and integrated physics and chemistry (IPC) for high school. Offerings include curricula from Learning.com, Adaptive Curriculum, and Edusmart, all delivered through Learning.com's digital learning environment.

This is the first time the state's adoption is solely supplemental, and the first time the adoption has been entirely digital. Learning.com meets these mandates, providing Texas districts with a proven, experienced resource for digitally delivering supplemental materials. Districts that select Learning.com for their digital science course materials also receive complimentary:
  • classroom management tools
  • connection to the national Learning.com community of more than 130,000 educators
  • access to more than 10,000 teacher-created lessons
  • exceptional support that includes implementation, training and professional development

"Learning.com has delivered online supplemental education in Texas for more than seven years. We have developed a deep understanding of what Texas educators need in their classrooms and how to support them as they make the transition to digital instruction," says William J. Kelly, Learning.com CEO. "Digital instruction will bring science to life and make a real difference for Texas students."
