Learning.com opens new online store to make its Web-based curriculum available to teachersTeachers can purchase directly and begin using immediately for their classrooms
The new online store makes it easy for teachers, principals, technology coordinators and other educators to use classroom funds to purchase Learning.com’s products, providing an excellent resource for classroom use, summer school programs, extended day programs and computer lab curriculum. “We heard from educators that they have long wanted to use their discretionary classroom funds to buy our products,” says William Kelly, CEO of Learning.com. “With these focused, Web-delivered solutions, teachers can deliver individualized instruction to exactly the students who need it, right when they need it.” The Learning.com Classroom Store is designed to let teachers make purchases with just a credit card, rather than using a school purchase order. Because Learning.com’s solutions are Web-delivered, teachers get same-day access to the products, and can immediately incorporate their purchases into their instructional day. The solutions may be purchased for as little as $48 and used with 10 students for 90 days. Additional subscriptions may be purchased for more students. Learning.com’s Products EasyTech, an award-winning K-8 technology literacy curriculum, supports teachers to effectively integrate technology skills into their math, science, language arts and social studies instruction. Self-paced interactive tutorials engage students in technology-based activities they find relevant, all within core curriculum. Both EasyTech and Aha!Math are based on a powerful Digital Learning Environment that makes it simple for teachers to get started with just a few clicks of the mouse. Teachers can customize assignments, individualize instruction and quickly access valuable reports on student progress. Additionally, teachers can even keep their own lessons and activities on Learning.com’s Digital Learning Environment to make it easy to assign and track all of their curriculum in one place. Only minimal resources in either the Macintosh or Windows environments are needed to take full advantage of Learning.com’s products. All that is necessary is Internet access, a Web browser and a free Flash player. Learning.com continues to offer its products for full district and school-wide implementation, providing multi-level purchase discounts for these larger purchases, and full professional development to support implementation across a larger number of classrooms.
