Product Manager, Supplemental Mathematics
As product manager you will own the P/L for a successful web-based product line focused on supplementary math. You will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing market and product requirements, defining the product vision and business plan, and working closely with development, marketing, sales, and services to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the product line supports the company's overall strategy and goals.
Responsibilities
- Define strategy, roadmap and business plan for product line and drive success of initiatives through effective interaction with other departments
- Maintain and communicate a prioritized product delivery roadmap
- Identify new opportunities and develop clear business cases for new products and features
- Specify market and product requirements for existing and new products by conducting market research, collaborating with sales, and interacting with current customers and prospects
- Manage market, industry, and competitive analysis for product line
- Recommend pricing strategies, define business requirements, and project revenues for product line
- Drive product line marketing in concert with company strategic marketing and other products, including defining product positioning and messaging, supporting the creation of collateral, participating in trade shows and conferences, and supporting online marketing initiatives
- Communicate with, train, and support the sales and service teams to meet revenue goals
- Serve as a product expert; be the product line champion from a marketing, sales, service, strategic, and product development standpoint
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of product management and/or product planning experience in the software industry, preferably including Internet-based products.
- Ability to quickly and independently master supplementary math product line and market.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative necessary to adopt existing line of business with active customers, contracts, development commitments, and marketing activities.
- Ability to successfully manage business line P/L and aggressively grow revenues.
- Demonstrated ability to complete product planning tasks including identification of customer requirements and conversion of requirements into product features.
- Ability to build business cases to justify product features and functions.
- Ability to work with a development team to rapidly produce prototypes and iterations.
- Passion for mathematics and education.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including product and business presentations to internal and external groups, both large and small.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing, Business Management or equivalent.
- Experience in the education industry is preferred
- Ability to travel up to 30%

Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to travel.
