Curriculum Specialist

Position Summary
The Curriculum Specialist is responsible for creating customer demand through field based, customer focused, marketing and sales efforts. The Curriculum Specialist is responsible for supporting and enhancing relationships with school district administrators, state administrators, educators, and individuals in other entities that may stimulate demand or place orders for Learning.com products and services. The majority of a Curriculum Specialist’s time is spent interacting with influencers, administrators, and educators in customer meetings, over the telephone, through e-mail or at conferences/workshops. The Curriculum Specialist also plays an integral role in advising product management, professional and customer services and sales to review and devise effective and replicable implementation models for Learning.com’s solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance relationships with school district administrators, state administrators, educators, and individuals in other entities to stimulate demand or place orders for Learning.com products.
  • Work with districts to develop plans that involve our technology as it relates to their goals and education technology priorities.
  • Work with educators on funding programs that can further the sales of our technology within districts.
  • Develop advanced knowledge of Learning.com products: curriculum, assessment, and DLE.
  • Provide consultative direction on customer selection of products.
  • Assist sales and marketing departments with sales support activities including, but not limited to: customer product demonstrations, seminars, and tradeshows)
  • Coordinate and conduct customer meetings, including demonstrations in one-on-one interactions or group presentations.
  • Strategize with product management, professional and customer services and sales teams to assess the best way to review and devise effective and replicable implementation models and to meet or exceed customer requirements and ensure satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, professional development and product management to identify, recommend and develop creative approaches, to market and sell products.
  • Gather market and competitive information and disseminate internally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required; MA/MS in Education a plus
  • 3+ years experience in teaching or curriculum administration
  • Minimum of two years experience in educational consulting, marketing, sales or professional development
  • Knowledge and experience integrating instructional technology in the classroom or in a training/consulting capacity required.
  • Well organized and structured, with the ability to work remotely with minimal supervision in a deadline driven environment
  • Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and product demonstration skills.
  • Proven ability to provide polished, solution-based presentations applicable to various levels of school personnel.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to work as a team member, develop positive working alliances, and perform as a liaison within the organization.
  • Projects a strong work ethic and energetic enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrates flexibility.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight, extensively, as necessary to meet the expectations of the job as determined by manager (approximately 75%).

Physical Demands
Person must be able to lift 50 lbs, to include but not limited to monitors, laptops, desktops, TVs, and network hardware. Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Requires ability to travel overnight.
