EasyTech by Learning.com is Certified as “Ready” by SMART

Accreditation Gives Educators the Assurance That Learning.com’s EasyTech is Effective and Easy to Use with SMART Board Interactive Whiteboards

Portland, Ore. — July 16, 2007 — EasyTech, the award-winning technology literacy curriculum by Learning.com, has been certified as “Ready” by SMART Technologies Inc. Accreditation at the “Ready” level means SMART finds Learning.com’s EasyTech easy to use, intuitive and interactive for use with its SMART Board interactive whiteboards.

The Web-delivered EasyTech supports teachers to easily and effectively integrate technology skills into their math, science, language arts and social studies instruction. Teachers can use SMART Boards interactive whiteboards and Sympodium interactive pen displays with EasyTech to demonstrate a technology skill or concept they want students to learn and model technology in a lesson or project.

EasyTech provides teachers with interactive tutorials to engage students in activities they find fun and relevant. Students feel a sense of accomplishment as they exercise critical thinking skills and get immediate feedback. They also apply and develop their technology skills to real-world challenges like creating pie charts in spreadsheets to understand fractions of a whole.

EasyTech is aligned with ISTE NETS and with state and core curriculum standards. It was launched by Learning.com in 1999 and is used by more than 1.7 million students throughout the United States.

SMART Technologies Inc. pioneered the SMART Board interactive whiteboard in 1991 and is the global market segment leader in interactive whiteboards and other group collaboration tools. The SMART Software Accreditation Program lets schools and districts know that accredited solutions integrate seamlessly with SMART products.
