Learning.com Announces Expansion Into Core Curriculum Solutions

PORTLAND, OREGON (February 6, 2007) — Learning.com today announced the expansion of its Web-based educational solutions and strategic direction to include core curriculum areas. The company also launched its new brand identity, reflecting Learning.com's position as the premier provider of Web-enhanced instruction and its vision to transform student learning experiences through innovative and relevant improvements in Web-enhanced pedagogies and delivery methods. Building on the successful integration of technology into K-8 core curriculum, the company announced that its first supplemental solution will be the K-5 Aha!Math product, which debuts in spring 2007 and will help students master fundamental math skills through game-based learning and engaging, mulitsensory experiences.

Learning.com was founded in 1999 by Bill Kelly and Barclay Burns, innovators in Web-based teaching and learning. The company's pioneering software products, EasyTech and TechLiteracy Assessment, provide educators with the tools to enable student mastery of technology literacy requirements. The company is now developing supplemental core curriculum solutions to help students cultivate foundational skills and provide educators with immediate feedback and meaningful data to improve instruction.

"Our expanded product focus into core curriculum was created to align to our mission of improved student learning through research-based, standards-aligned, and technology-infused curriculum and assessment," said Kelly, CEO of Learning.com. "Learning.com continues to lead the way in providing premier, Web-enhanced instruction through innovative and relevant solutions. We understand how best to integrate 21st century technology into how children learn and how educators teach."

"We believe in the power of the Web to transform the way children learn and have structured our educational solutions around the most current and forward-thinking research on how children learn with technology," said Burns, chairman of Learning.com. "Our unique product design means children receive immediate feedback — at the moment of learning — creating what we know is the most successful reinforcement to enhance learning outcomes. Our educational solutions enable teachers to identify and meet individual needs more directly, providing opportunities for key differentiated instruction."

Learning.com's subscription, Web-based solutions offer educators content that is current, compelling and timely, and reflects what today's learners need to know, which provides increased value over time, especially when compared to print-based products.
